Clove oil as I heard is best, it is espouse to shut down the nerve system and kill the fish (no pain), and vodka well he'll die happy.
Freezing would be like placing you in a tub of ice water and drowning you, not the way I would want to go.
Does water always taste like salt and poo????

I have always used the freezing method myself and it wouldn't be the same as putting you or I in the freezer as we are warm blooded
but rather you put the fish with a portion of it's water in the freezer as the temp drops the fish goes to sleep then dies as it gets colder and freezes
