    Default Yellow Tang is dead

    I got up this morning and my yellow tang was dead, I put two new pumps in the water a Rio 2100 and a seio 2600 I think they got the water two hot it was 85.3 this morning, the nitrates are a light orange everything else is good what should I do to get the water cooled down? I guess I am going to have to get a Chiller "ouch"

    Have you got fans on the water in your sump and or tank i have a 1100
    and 600 along with a 3000 Q one and with the fans have stable Temp at
    about 78

    What type of fans do you use, would a temp of 85-86 kill my tang?

    Most fish will survive a Temp Chang like that but Tangs or a fish that dose not like a sodden Cheng of no kind so yes that passable is the reason you lost it.

    If you have a Hood you can get little 4'' fans at radio shake to mount in it.

    if not get Small fans at wall mart or somewhere i have a 5'' clamp on fan i put on my sump to help in the summer along with 2 4'' fans in the Hood.
