Default We Finally Took The Pony Plunge!

Well, we were out LFS'ing again, and Dave (dakar) spotted some Seahorses in a tank. I can't say we weren't tempted, but they were marked as Kellogi's or something like that. Still intrigued, we asked what they wanted for the pair...$160 for the pair. Ouch! That was more than we knew we could get the H. Reidi's for, and be 100% certain how they were raised. So we passed.

The next store we went to had to go and further tempt us with these! The dust didn't have a chance to settle after putting their home together the rest of the way. The tank has been ready for 8 months, sitting in the wall with some rocks, blue leggers, snails, attempting to just keep the tank ready for when I finally got the guts to take the plunge. We believe they are all girls, and hope they are H. Reidi, so we're relying on our SeaHorse expert....that's you DavidP-onyMan. He'll be able to guide us through our new journey. They were feeding them live brine shrimp....*psssst Dave...as you suggested *....they're are doing pretty darn good on frozen brine & mysis soaked in Selcon!! We haven't had to feed anymore live since!! Here's a few pictures of our 4 little ponies! Their names are: SunDancer, Snickett, Flora, & Fawna, and YES...I can tell them apart when I'm real lucky! We'll get some clearer pics soon!

So what do you think Everyone, aren't they just adorable? Wish me luck on the uploads!
I hope you enjoy them as much as we are loving them! :seahorse:

    Hey there lady...

How tall are they again? If they are still under 2 1/2 - 3 inches, they may all look like girls. The males brooding pouch develops later as they mature. In any case, here are my "guesses" thus far.

Picture #1 - Snickett- Too dark an image for me to sex

Picture #2 - Flora, 90% certain it's a female - Notice the drastic "P" shape to her belly? Then again, if she is small, who knows?!

Picture #3 - Sundancer? Are 3 and 4 the same fish? In 3, the belly looks like it might taper some and could be a boy.

Picture #4 - Sundancer? If this is the same fish as 3, this image shows a more pronounced belly. Girly like.

Thanks David! I had asked Angel if I could paint numbers on them so I could tell who is who, I don't know how she can tell them apart.
