Hey guys here's a few shots of my Great Lakes 130 tall. It's almost two years old. Lighting consists of two radions, one evergrow d120, and two t5s. I can provide more details if anyone is interested!

I have 13 fish and over 50 corals although I'm mainly an sps and acropora collector

It all started with me tearing down my nano.... I moved into a new house so naturally it was time for a new tank. I wanted something bigger, but my wife said 4ft was the limit lol.

I moved the nano and it's contents with us and eventually transferred it all into my current tank. I've had my watchman goby for about 4-5 years now as well as a few larger softie and leather colonies.

I bought my tank in October 2012, I started with 100lbs of brs pukani rock and seeded it with rock from my nano. I added 50 lbs of black sand at some point. It sat and "cured" until January 2013.

As you can see things are pretty boring and basic at this time..

In spring of 2013 I got my first few sps frags from some local reefers.. They did alright so I continued learning and talking to fellow hobbyists to gain knowledge and tips/tricks in the hobby.

90% of my tank has been grown from small frags.

Here's a pic from last summer

    Looks great!

How do you like the black substrate?

It's pretty course and doesn't blow around too much. I have a WP 40 and a RW 15 for flow so I can't use anything too fine.

It also gives the tank an overall darker look and I feel like it allows the bright colors of the coral to naturally contrast the dark look of the tank. On the other hand I have a 29 gallon deep sand bed with tons of inverts and they love the fine white sand
