I am just guessing but that trim piece is the canopy. It would just connect to the heat sink and that is suspended over the tank on the two rods in the picture.
    Just a guess.

So long time no update. Well after moving and finding out the tank has a seam leak along the bottom this tank is coming to its end .

But in its place will be a brand new spiffy 75g peninsula style tank!!! Work on the stand starts today

Bad news for the wallet, but I love peninsula style tank for the aquascaping options they give you. And a spiffy new tank means no more unsightly scratches.

Well I've been working on the stand the past couple nights and I'm picking the tank up at lunch today. Also bent a piece of dark gray sheet pvc to form the internal overflow box.
