Default Happy 10th Birthday to.... my tank!

10 years ago tonight I loaded all my livestock into my current tank, a 72x18x24 135g All Glass with corner overflows. We were living in a condo for 6 months while this house was being built... and today, 10 years to the day, tank has been running continuous all that time.

We've had some success, also some failure... and it's been a fun ride. Met a lot of great people, played with a lot of cool gear, including LEDs... I'm laying claim to being the first "Big" tank (over 6 feet wide) running LEDs on a SPS dominated and growing tank.... but that's another story.

I don't have a lot of fish in the tank (just 5) but two of them (Coral Beauty and Bi-Color Angel) have been there since day 1, and a third (clown goby) joined just a few months later.

Going to toss out a few full tank shots more pics later.... after I eat some birthday cake. Here's to another 10 years!

Detroit's oldest large LED tank! Est'd Jan 2005, went LED June 2009. 6' wide 130g reef, Sunbrite T10 LED tubes (3xGen 3 and 1xGen 1), mostly SPS, but chalices, other LPS, and a few softies too.

Tank, 10 years running, is absolutely impressive.

Glad to have met you, along the way also. Looking forward to seeing you in Lansing.
