Thread should read 35g hex (read on to the bottom if you wanna know why . . . basically I went by word instead of math my bad!!)
I really love all the info I have been gleaning from CR. I just got my first corals yesterday Thanks Happy Coral! so I figured I would post some pictures. I wish I could put this up on that "baby reef" section (having trouble w/ that). I guess somthing I see ya'll do is put your tank specs. So here we go with that

35g Hex (glass) Live rock and sand added end of November, BakPak 2R+ skimmer (with some active carbon I rigged up in there) 3 el'cheapo powerheads like a 50gph & 2 35gpa, 250watt MH light (diy style), heater. . . thermometer oh yeah and like EVERY test kit you can buy of course

And the live stuff: 2 clownfish (occys still in qt for now jic), blue legged hermitcrab, brittle star nubby, 3 bumblebee snails, like 10ish ast. snails, 3 nas. snails, green bta, 2 ric (really hard to photo them), some purple spotty orange zoa, frogspawn, purple Idaho grape, blue strippy mushrooms, green/blue sps, sun coral & couple rock nems, and an ugly clump of cheato. By the way I love taking pictures and have been saving for an SLR for a while now, so that said my pictures are pretty crappy with my pas camera, taking pictures of the aquarium is REALLY FRICKEN HARD (sure you all knew that) So far I am loving this new hobby!

Looks good. You have a great foundation with that nice live rock I got for you. Got to get some really cool shots of the sun coral.

I agree on the very cool rock looks great in the hex. You also have some pretty nice corals in there

Hello Heidi, Your tank looks great! However I would recommend removing the green plant looking stuff in the last pic of your first post. It is called caulerpa and is actually an algae. It will grow out of control and out compete your corals. Once it takes hold it can be extremely difficult to get rid of. I am just trying to help head off a problem before it becomes a serious problem.

it is kinda pretty guys, imo, is it something I can control by cutting back (like you would any plant) so it just stays there on the rock? OR is it gonna show up other places not just where its shoots are? Does it compete for nutrients? Just a few questions I am new to this so thanks for the advice. -Heidi

That green stuff is caulerpa. It will take over your tank. It is extremely good at up taking nutrients. Many people use it in their refugiums. But unless you want a tank full of it, I'd get it out. If it is on just a couple rocks that you can get out, I would remove the rocks for now. Just picking it off, likely won't work to get rid of it. What will happen is with lights going on/off, it causes it to go sexual...and it will release spores in the tank to reproduce.
