I really like that scape a lot! How many inches of sand do you have. Pearly jawfish are very social and really like to live in a group, so I think they should be fine. 3 might even do better socially, but this is a nano...

I have my rock work around the back and one side so there is a 13x 13 inch area left for the fish to dig I wanted to give them room but also know they like little groups but for this area I will start with a pair and see what happens. Now that I read that again I wondered if you were wanting to know the depth of the sand bed which is averagely 4 inches deep. What I would love is a little mating.... would it not be the coolest!? I have diatoms and my water is finally clear so now we are just waiting on lights to get some good photos but these will have to do for now.

This week: Lights, more coral, and the jawfish pair.

coral still isn't in its permeant placement, but it's getting closer. I will do a little invoice in a few days when I get some more stuff. So far I have gotten everything in here from my 150 or bought from happycoral.com .

some rubble I added for my fish to make their homes with. I will add a bit more this week anything that is on the ground in the picture that is not rubble or sand will be puttied and glued to the rock-work as to not encourage coral stealing of the jaws. OH AND LOOK! It's diatoms!! Signs that my small cycle is coming to an end

Acans are still kinda mad but they will puff up eventually.

pretty blue and white flowerpot is finally starting to polyp out after 4 days, there are some ugly reddish zoas there that I am not sure if they are going to make the cut or not we will see what they look like under the good lights.

Thanks for following along! and Miz you better not tell my super secret on the light!

The Goniopora is nice, they do take some time to extend out.

So it has been too long between updates, sorry people Basically I went through my cycle, today I added a chalice and 2 pearly jawfish (Opistognathus aurifrons). I did a little water change and added 2 handfuls of "special reef grade" sand I bought for more texture for the jawfish to build with. They are SOO cute people! I will hope they come out tomorrow and I can get some decent pictures. They are about an inch and a half each and were sharing a hole at the pet store so maybe they will get along Here are some things I did today and yesterday.
..Did a 2 gallon water change
...Moved heater to back behind the rocks so you can't see it
...switched out the 450 power head for a 750.. MUCH better.
...Took off the whisper filter (I was running carbon on and off for the last few weeks)
...Built a screen top for the jaws
...Glued down all the current coral so the jaws don't think its burrow building material.

Here is an updated picture, tomorrow I will be mounting my lights and showing you all the fun DIY i did with that. the second picture is one of the jawfish... bad picture I will get better ones later. Also the water is super cloudy cause of the added sand. Thanks for looking!!
