This is a new one to me. Honestly I've never seen this behavior, but am interested in the outcome. Didn't you have a sick anemone that turned himself inside out & such? I can't remember if he made it or passed on to that big ocean in the sky.

The nem that turned inside out was an LTA; he died within 24 hours. I'm still not sure what happened to him, but I suspect Marlin "loved" him to death. The BTA seems much more tolerant of Marlin's very physical attention. This nem seems helathy - for now. Since he used to eat much more frequently, I'm not sure how long he'll stay healthy. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal behavior during spawning, if he's losing his appetite for some other reason, and if Marlin plays any role in this situation.
it is a very special relationship. when anenomes do spawn they will not eat for a day or 2 this is normal. I would jus keep an eye on him and he should be allright. Keep us posted to his condition. Now I do not know if a clown knows if the anenome is hungry or not. thus him taking the food away. Not sure on that one but I will do some checking.
best of luck
Wow...I've never seen an anemone spawn. I've seen them split...lots o' times.
I have seen anemone spew food after eating. I've also seen them release Zoxanthelle algae while adjusting to light. I've also seen them inflate and deflate with changes in water conditions.
I'd love to see one spawn!
