    Default Ghost Shrimp...

I bought about 6 ghost shrimp for $1 and my lionfish finally ate!!!
Iwas just wondering though... How long would freshwater ghost shrimp
actually survive in my salt water aquarium? I didn't really have
achance to observe the ghost shrimp to see how long they would live.
Mylion ate four ghost shrimp right off the bat. Then one ghost shrimp
died and the last shrimp was going strong for about 20 minutes and
thenthe lionfish ate him. So I have no survivors in the
tank...but Iam just curious so I dont buy like 20 at a time for
    no reason.

The ghost shrimp are freshwater and will not last very long. (30 min.? or so) They do not have the nutritianal value the lion needs. I believe I added a link of the board on where to buy the Common shore shrimp (Marine). They can live in salt water and they are not very expensive. Plus you can enrich them with good food first then the lion will get the benefit of whatever you fed the shrimp.

I am glad that the Lion finally ate something. Good luck to you.

yeah you are missing lipids which fresh water fish do not have, I would look into saltwater shrimp or some shiners. but glad to hear that he finally ate, I am sure that was a releif.
