    Default LTA problems..... any ideas?

I have had one LTA for about a month now and he is doing great! I bought another LTA which had a beautiful irridescent green and purple coloration and he has been in the tank for about 5 days now. After the first night he opened up and seemed to be happy where I placed him. I fed him brine shrimp and he took them fine. Last night when I got home he was all shriveled up and his tentacles were tiny. He also has let go of his mounting point and the current was trying to move him off the rock. All my water parameters tested fine and I don't know what to do. He has moved to the bottom of the tank and has ended up in a crevice where he is kind of wedged in place. Should I wait for a few days and see what happens or try to move him to a new home in the tank? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks, Shawn

Yep... be patient and observe. You may have begun a war in your tank... anemone's are territorial and chemical warfare is more than likely. Are you running carbon??? As for moving, shriveling up, etc... all are normal characteristics of even the healthiest anemone from time to time.

The "war" idea never occurred to me but the newer LTA is about twice the size of the older one. Seems like he should be the winner in that brawl? I really don't wanna lose the newer one because he is such a beautiful color compared to "old pinkie". LOL Guess I can do CPR and mouth-to-mouth if it comes down to it! "LIVE DAMN YOU! LIVE!!!!" LOL

I am trying to be patient! Really I am! When do I need to "pull the plug" though? I don't wanna poison the whole tank. Any hard guidelines of what to watch for? And about the "physical love" thing, Angel hand feeds and massages all of her critters! No one gives her any trouble over it! LOL

How would you explain to the attending at the ER that your tongue is filled with nematocysts and you can't taste anything. :smt030

exactly what reptor said. an anenome will move about the tank until he finds a spot that he likes just be patient. I have a gree carpet anenome that was part gypsie, the thing was allways moving It fiinally found a spot that it liked and was just as happy as could be. I would also suggest running some carbon. but if the first one you have is doing fine then the other should acclimate and do fine. Just let him pick where he wants to be and all will be right in the world :D

Well, it is official..... I'm a fish killer! Tried everything short of mouth-to-mouth but the LTA died anyway. Burial services were beautiful though....we had a large turnout and everyone brought pie.
