My tank is being over run with what I have been told are Glass Anenomes , very lite pale brown color almost clear. They have grown very quickly and now there are loads of very small ones everywhere, any Ideas on how to get rid of them???? Rick#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#
glass anenome, aptasia, curly cue, they are all the same and all bad for your tank. they spread quick and pack a pretty good sting. you will want to get rid of them as quick as possible. You can rid these a few ways. like wrasse said peppermint shrimp work good but tend to munch on other soft corals. Copperbanded butterfly fish works awesome. what I would recommend is getting some kalkawasser and mixing it into a paste and inject if onto them. that works awesome. but you will want to remedy this quickly
TRY USING JOE'S JUICE, OR GO THE NATURAL WAY WITH A PREDATOR. BUTTERFLY FISH WILL EAT THOSE PESKY ANEMONES. TRY EITHER A COPPER BAND OR BETTER YET A FALSE FALCULA,SP CHAETODON ULETENSIS. I'M ADDING ONE OF THESE FISH VERY SOON TO CONTROL MINE. I READ A GOOD ATR. @ WWW.advancedaquarist.com. good luck
watch your PH when using joes juice, it will raise it as will kalk paste. you can use pickling lime as well I bieleve. The kalk paste works awesome literally melts the little nasties into nothing
I am a RAVING fan of the copper banded butterfly, I have one in my 92 gallon and he CLEARED my entire tank of aptasia single handedly, I love that fish
my copperband is literally the best fish in my tank. I have gsp, zoo's and stuff like that. he just cruises around and picks pods out of the rocks. I love that fish to death
