    Default green carpet anemone

I bought a green carpet anemone and it walked around the whole tank and then it walked to the back of my tank and died-- I can't get to it-- I am trying . . . What will it do to the water?

Do whatever you have to do to get that out of there. Naturally it's going to be breaking down and polluting your water. Your cleanup crew will do the best it can to eat what's leftover, but I'd still get it out. You may have to move some things around to get it out, but IMO it would be the best thing for the reef. Good Luck!

RA is right, do whatever it takes to remove the soon to pollute your tank anemone even if that means tearing out all the rock. I know that it will be a lot of work and hassle doing that but if your tank wipes out because of a dead anemone that would be worse IMO. The sooner you get it out of there the better. Can you see it? Maybe you would be able to get a suction hose to reach it somehow and pull it out that way, just a thought.

Good! If there's slime and stuff left behind, grab a baster and a pail. Suck out as much as you can before it disperses around the tank. I'm glad you got it out of there!

A good size water change will help. You may want to run some carbon too but not sure. Lets see if any one agrees.

when you say "run some carbon" what does that mean? I have carbon in my filter- I changed it out-- Is that what you mean?

Yes, that will help. Others, correct me if I am wrong but most people do not run carbon on their tanks all the time because while it does pull out bad stuff it also pulls out good stuff so they leave the carbon out until a time arises that they truly need it.
Water change, new carbon in your filter are very good. Monitor ammonia and nitrate levels for the next few days and if they get real high keep doing water changes and remove and particles of the anemone you missed.
