Default Man did that stink! Tunze Massacre

Walked downstairs and saw my tank very cloudy in the blue lights. Went in the back and the whole room smelled like a fish market. Very bummed to find my tunze, wrapped with neon pink tentacles and meat. Particles all over the place in the DT and a wild looking foam in the refugium. Both of my skimmers stopped skimming too for some reason.

My fault. I saw it last night and it was almost out of the rock, but they do this periodically and go back. I should've taken it out when I had the chance and sold it. It was a huge one when puffed out (10" +) One of the other rbta's split the other day so I thought I had an extra. Oh well.

    Water change and carbon.

I've had it happen myself. I like the foam guards on the vortechs....at least so far they seem to work.

Leave the pieces Tom. I have seen them regenerate from a tiny piece of just the foot.

I also have witnessed this Tom. And considering your RBTA's have blob DNA you probably will have hundreds of em by the morning. Lol Ours is getting ready to split, again! So if you need one LMK .
Not surprised all that protein slamed the ETSS !

LOL! They are pretty prolific multipliers. Thanks for the offer, Chuck, but I'm going to sell 'em when they split now and I think I have about 8.

I am seeing pink tentacle bits all over the rock, but the foot was cut into the tunze grill pretty tight so I had to carve it out.

That's a great idea for folks with wandering anemones, Jim! I wonder if I can rig something like that for my Tunzes. I don't mind cleaning another foam thing if it saves lives.

Thanks Tom! I appreciate it. I felt bad cause it was avoidable. If I see them on the move again, out they come.

Hey Chuck, you're our resident genius fabricator, can you think of something I can use for the grill part?

Should be able to cover it with some foam you would think. Just glue the seam together.

I like it. Maybe some kind of very porous foam so it doesn't get clogged too easily. Not sure where to get that, but I'll check out the Lowes near me. Thanks Chuck!
