    Default Suicidal Shrimp

I just found my peppermint shrimp on the top of the glass tank cover.

There is about a 2" gap at the back for the filter and equipment cords. He's always hung out back there, usually on top of the powerhead. He could easily crawl out from there, but I can't imagine why he would. And geez - if he did decide to explore, why the heck didn't he crawl back in? He was less than a 1/4" away from the water...

He couldn't have been there long, so I put him back in the tank. He was swirling around upside down in the current, and Marlin started eating him. :pale:

No, not very smart at all. I was (am) quite upset, as he was my favorite of the two shrimp. My grandmother (who lives with me) even wished it had been the cleaner who bit the dust, so to speak. When I called my husband to tell him the news, his remark was, "What a moron!"

Well, I'll get the sympathy I need here at CR rather than at home!
