    Default Blue leg size

Does anyone know how large a blue leg hermit crab gets? I have one that is now carrying a shell about the size of a ping pong ball or larger and his legs are not blue either. All of my hermits (5 in all ) are getting quite large. Do they also lose their blue legs as they get older or do I need to remove these guys from my tank?

The blue leg (Clibanarius tricolor) only gets maybe an inch across the leg span. You may have some other type of juvenile hermit in the tank. I would keep an eye on him. if they start to do something wrong then I would get them out of there

Do blue legs loose their blue and turn to yellow legs as they mature? If not I may have a problem.

Looks like I might have to go crabbing. At least three of the five or six do not have blue legs. Thanks for the help.

now are they harming stuff in the tank???? I would say and this is just me. I would let them stay till you see signs of them doing something bad. but if they are misbehaving then yes your right in removing them
