skeleton shrimp

i know its not very close up but i love how it looks like this little guy is praising the lord. they way he has both appendages out and looking up at the light. lol

i found this guy in my macro algae cube on my brand new piece of halymenia about a month ago, then there was 2, then 3 then 4 and the most ive ever counted ot once is 5. they are cool little guys ive read that the live 300m below the surface within the mouth parts of certain crabs, amoung other places. neat right?

Strange creature. It's a shrimp?

not sure if its actually classified as a shrimp, but the common name is a skeleton shrimp.

i came to a sad realization today. i havent seen one of these in quite some time... i looked for a long time today and didnt see a single one. there was a time you could see 5 right away. i hope i still have some.

That is sad but the pictures are very cool. The ocean has some very cool stuff in it, never ceases to amaze me.
