Default Bad batch of reef crystal on the market?

Heard on another forum about total tank crashes using teef crystals. They should be posting their batch numbers today. Both people were using new buckets of rc that they had recently purchased. It killed just about everything. I will spread the word on the batch numbers as soon as i find out.

I just switched to reef crystals a week and a half ago. Now my calcium is down, p.h. is down. And I have brown rust colored stuff growing on my rocks. Never had any of this in the 11 years I have had the tank. How much is this Salinity salt?

Well so far my new bucket is just fine. Have done 2 WC without issues. Been using RC for 3 years and never an issue. It's a great salt mix at a great price, period!

Well i blamed my tank crash on bio pellets....thinking since it happened right when i added them is when my tank took a dive....well fast forward 6 months when i get a new bucket of salt, the tank straightens right back out. i did some research and a few other people had the same problem back in February. Tropic Marin released a bad batch :-( i guess its my own fault not checking into it:-(

Salinity is $.05 more per gallon. And when you think about how conveinent it is. And how much you save on not dosing.... Just love it.
