    Default Vortech battery back up.

Well, never thought I would totally depend on battery back ups! I have a generator and the house is wired for it!got it covered! Battery's would give me time to get home and start the generator ,right! What happens if it doesn't start, didn't think of that one, tell this week. We lost power for over 18 hours. The battery's worked flawlessly and kept everything alive, thank god! I never did get the generator started, need to rebuild the carberator and the kit takes 5 to 7 days to come in. These back ups saved thousands of dollars in coral and seventeen fish. They we're fully recharged in about 24 hours and ready to go for the next time. Money well spent! I recommend anyone who has vortech's to spend the extra money and get a ton of piece of mind !

Great to hear it worked for you. I've got one on my Vortech as well. I would definitely say that the battery back up is one of the reasons to get a Vortech in the first place. Although something like this can be rigged up for other pumps as well, the Vortech backup is well done (minimal wires and clutter) plus lasts a long time in backup mode. I think an mp-10 can run for several days on battery backup.

I agree fully. They sure saved my tank. I got a UPS for the return pumps and it only lasted 20 min. Worthless in this situation. Will be fine to give me time to get the generator started but in this case it was useless! The vortech's get all the credit. Even the color of the corals was not effected. I am sure if it was winter time we would have had some issues. The tank only went down to 71 so that helped out a ton
