Man Jim, that rigid mount looks a lot like conduit.

As for your concern on the back glass, you could always add a piece of plexi in between the mount and the glass.

I agree Jim, I think another Kessil would be a good way to open up more spots. I bet you could make something pretty easy to use the current gooseneck, you would just need a piece of Aluminum U...
