Any kind of a fuge is a good thing... find room where you can and fit it in. If you can't find space enough in your sump, you can always add a hang-on refugium.

That could be a problem... atmospheric co2 can be a cause of a PH drop. Here's a test: take a cup of water from the tank and take it outside for a minute while agitating the surface, then take it...
