I notice many softies and lps tend to extend a bit further in lower flow. Not sure if that means they are happy or not. SPS tend to extend more at night....but don't seem to get more extension with lower flow for me.
Guess I should elaborate on the flow in my tank, tank size, ect.-
Its a 65G Breeder
All flow to the corals is set up to be indirect, and for the most part is random, and linear.
As far as water flow equipment-
Vortech mp10, set at reefcrest- full blast
A korilia evo 1050, on the right glass pane, aimed slightly to the front glass/water surface.
A modded maxi jet on left pane of glass, pointed strait right, just below the flow of the korilia.
The vortech is mounted on the back glass, center of the tank, and interupts the flow from the 2 constant running pumps, randomly, due to the fluctuations of flow output.
Is it possible I have too much flow? And need to settle things down a bit? Is the constant flow from the modded maji overkill w/ the 2 other pumps?
I plan on replacing the modded maxijet w/ 2 more korilia evos, and get them set up on the wave times, but for now- I figured I would just run the modded maxi.
I would sell a few frags and your MP10 and get an MP40. A single MP40 will be all the flow you need for the whole tank. I noticed an explosion in growth and polyp extension when I got rid of the stationary pumps and added Vortechs.
