    Default New to SPS Corals

I just bought this frag at my LFS about 3 weeks ago now and I'm wondering if it is doing good or not. The tips of the branches are turning white but all the polyps seem to be out. Is this because it's growing or is it something else? I did all my water tests, no nitrates, no amonia, Ph 8.3, calcium 420, alk 3.77 or KH 10.6 temp 78 and salinity 1.025. Let me know what you think.

what type of lighting are you using, but it looks good to me. the tips are usually lighter cause of growth.

I have a Hamilton fixture with 2 250 watt 10000k Metal Halides and 2 110 watt VHO Actinics. I start the VHO's about 1 hour earlier than the hallides and leave them 1 hour longer. Hallides are on about 7 hours right now. I've only had the fixture for about a month so I'm still acclimating the corals. By the way my tank is 75 gallons.

I am seeing lots of new growth on 2 of my SPS corals... one has "buds" that are almost white in color, and on the other the buds are blue. Your parameters seem good; from the photo and what you've described, I wouldn't worry too much. It seems like it's doing well!
