The biggest factor of stn is water quality. It usually the first sight of an issue with parameters being out whack. I.E. hi No2 or so on. I would suggest testing your water and doing a water change first off. Start with the simple stuff.
There are many factors that can cause STN. Inadequate light due to overgrowth or crowding and consistently low alkalinity levels are fairly common causes. Once you figure out the cause and correct the problem, the corals usually recover in due time. Water tests as Binford stated can help you solve the problem...........................Jim
i used to run into that problem a lot. i always had my alk between 8-9 and never worried about iodine.now that i keep my alk levels between 10-12 and usually above 11 and keeping an eye on iodine i no longer have issues with sps. quality test kits are also important, i love the red sea test kits and will never go back. if you buy the multi packs they become very affordable, not much more per test kit than the cheap ones.
oh and i also started using restore by brightwellm its a fatty acid etc. supplement.
What does your po4 measure and what kit are you measuring it with?
Anyone can grow Zoa's and LPS I have some in my sump.
