Default what to do with brown wild colonies?

I'm an adventurous reefer and like to try a wild colony from time to time. I like to take a chance on a brown coral or somthing that looks like it may have potential..."It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get..." LOL. But, many just turn out staying brown or into nothing special. My question is, what should I do with these corals. I have about 4 or 5 that I don't want to just throw out, but don't want to keep. Can I sell these things? I'm tempted to just give them away...

I personally would just give them more time. Those of us with wives already know- chocolates are instant gratification, and SPS arent.

If you dont want them, they can be sold to a "wild sps" enthusiast or if you are feeling in a "cool" mood, giving them away is always nice, especially if you beleive in carma.

    Dont throw them out....

Maybe check with a store and see about some store credit or just give them away. I know what you mean though, I have some stuff I absolutely don't want but I can't just kill it.
I simply can't trust people that don't like bacon,

Try starting a PIF (Pay It Forward) thread. Take some pics, offer it up for free for the next person to frag and give it to the next person in line. This is great for beginners, someone that just wants to try something new, or for people getting back in.

Chop several pieces off and distribute to other tanks. When someone colors it up you will know the secret. If not? Several people will be stuch with your brown coral.

I have a few of those as well. Probably bring them into the fish store in a few days
