if it has 2 mouths then that is exactly what it is doing ... keep us posted
Thats exactly what he's doing. The back mushro0m is slowly moving away from the front one now.
Both of the skins are starting to heal around the 2 new mouths. SO FREAKIN AWESOME!
Im totally new to the keeping frags/softies game and to have a mushro0m split after only having it a week!! OMG ... IM HOOKED!!
congrats on the split man, some things in this hobby are just amazing huh ??
I didn't think that mushrooms split on their own. I've never had any of mine split that i've noticed, but I have probably close to 100 shrooms and I can't pay attention to them all.Mine generally "walk" and leave little ones in their wake.
120G Reef and 40B reef at work, 120G tank dry and dirty in the garage.
it could hav ejust been torn and this was its way of healing. kind of like when we propagate them. that is what i am thinking anyway. just something to maybe do a study on.
I dunno. He was like almost 2 inches across in diameter when we first got him. Was doin awesome, always totally layed out and real big.
Then one day he lo0ked kinda like a clover .. and I was like oh great, he's dieing on me. I dont think this was because of him tearing. There is no totalyl direct water flow hitting him (would take a lot to rip him in half I would imagine) and nothing in my tank that would/could do that.
Then he started spreading out again and it became apparent that he split exactly in half.
The flat part started curling around to start forming a disc again and the stems are healing up. The back one (Daryl) is moving back I think, or maybe the front one (his other brother Daryl) is moving forward. Either way, their moving apart and are now becoming 2 seperate mushrooms.
And yes, this hobby is simply amazing!!
