You can get 50lbs of good LR on ebay for around $150 shipped! I doubt you will get $3 a pound at any LFS.

Too true ... even with my reef club discount I still pay $5-8/lb. (depending on the type of rock). Thank goodness I'm only buying small pieces for mounting corals now!

Here are two that are on Ebay currently. I'm thinking of buying some myself. Just curious what everyone thinks about the quality of the rock before I buy any of it.

The first link to rock on ebay was "Enhanced"

Please be aware of the fact that a lot of unethical "Enhancing" happens on the net. I would personally not buy from someone who "Enhances" their images.

The way to tell, (not always) is to look at the background or known objects. If they are overexposed or "Glowing" something is not right. Save the photo on your computer and edit it with software that allows you to manipulate the SATURATION. Use it and the TINT until the background or known object looks right.

In the case of the first link, it's mostly beige rock. Very little coraline.

In the second link the background is GLOWING purple...certain sign of "Enhancement".

I guess I can post pictures now...

If you look very close you can see the wall is tinted and glowing. Either they are having a nuclear meltdown or the photo was enhanced.

I used http://www.gulf-view.com/index.html If you looks at my gallery you can see the rocks I got. Photos were taken with my sony cybershot non enhansed in any way. It is only a 4mp (I need a better camera for fish stuff but later) I was personally awed but the rock. The rock does have 4 antiplasia (SP?) I will be treating it in the next few days and buying a peppermint Shrimp to ensure it stays gone. Tons of sponges (Orange, White, Blue) I am verry happy with it so far. (But I am new to this I am happy the rock didnt die) :D Was 55.00 shipped on southwest airlines. I went to the airport to get it.
