I bought a frag about a month ago. For the first 3 weeks they were opened and beautiful. This entire last week they've been closed. I'm noticing little tiny bugs on em.
I took it out and rinsed it for about a min in some RO/DI water. Lots of little bugs fell off. So I put her back in the tank. Still not opening and tonite I saw some teeny weeny little bugs on it again. None of my other zoa's are suffering at all. I have no med and our LFS carries nothing of the sort. What else can I do?
first remove them from your tank and put in a qt tank even a tiny goldfish bowl will work with some tank water
I would do a compleat dip in ro water
I have also heard lemon juice/ro water works good as a dip also leave them in the water for about a min to kill all the pests
keds are a sweet looking zoa I hope they survive
if you can contact the local vet for some interceptor it is a deworming drug for dogs tell the vet you want it for your fish tank and you shouldn't have a problem getting it
You have a frag rack? If so, after your next dip, set them up on it. They are far less likely to be invaded up in the tank and not on sand/rock. It will give your polyps a kinda "safe haven" to recover at. It might take a few days to open, but they should come around. Good luck!
You have a significant pod population in your tank?
No frag rack!!! It's either rock or bed. I just got done dipping them again, and yes more little bugs came off. The bugs are tiny, with lots of legs, kind of scoot around in circles. Depends what kind of pod we're talking about. I think I better try an identify what the little buggers are.
