The bio active salt will feed the bacteria in your tank but it might not be the ideal carbon for the bacteria in your tank. So people will have different results with the product depending on the carbon source in the product and what bacteria is in the tank. So my opinion I would add different bacteria to try an seed the tank till something catches on. Plus if one strain of bacteria out competes the others you may rebalance the population in the tank.
    Very interesting!

Well I have been using this salt for awhile. I have not even thought about going back to reef crystals. The color on my corals has improved and my skimmer pulls skimmate like crazy. I tried MB7, and it didn't make my skimmer work any hardier. Every batch also tests the same unlike reef crystals.

Interesting. I've been thinking of doing something different than the ESV 4-part but I can't think to change at this point. I do like the idea of a single component salt though.
