welp got the sump drained yesterday and yanked out the old skimmer and put the new one in. ill take a video soon when its done breaking in. but its a nice skimmer, dead quiet.

The little gate valve type deal it has is kinda nifty. Also has an adjustment for how much air you let the pump take in so you can really fine tune this skimmer.

working great, got it tuned. Been pullin stuff daily, maybe a couple cups worth every couple days.

Well a little update, mainly because im upset.

Got the bubble magus doser the other week and finally got it setup, not a bad little piece of equipment, makes life much easier. Levels are staying pretty consistant, might have to tweak it a bit to get it to where i want it but def gives me a peice of mind now.....


Got a new light for the fuge, my chaeto just has not been growing but i know there is a bit of excess nutrients in the water cause im getting slight dustings of cyano and this random aglae still growing in my frag tank... so it has to be the light, at one point n time my chaeto grew insanely. So i did a bit of research and got the ole shop light from HD and a 5000k color spectrum bulb. So will see if this helps at all, if not, hey its a new bulb.

Skimmer....oh this skimmer....been working wonderfully since i got it, pulling sludge and doing its job than the other day the pump decided to get crazy loud for some reason, sounded like something was wrong internally so i took the pump out and took it apart, can't find anything wrong with it. Been in contact with skimz who sadly is in singapore...great my luck.. they arn't being to helpful to get this resolved. Now they want me to mail them my impeller...ya right, gonna take 2 weeks to fix this? no.. so im sending them a more demanding email now..guess will see..

One of the big reasons i try to stay away from pictures is im not to thrilled about the look of my tank right now... mainly because i have 100 or so aiptasia...and well it takes away from the look. I've tried joes juice and aiptasia x and mine just laugh at it like its steroids. Got my hands on an aiptasia zapper, didn't seem to work well or i wasn't using it correctly either way didn't help....haven't tried peppermint shrimp in awhile mainly because they're hit or miss.

looks like aquacave is gonna send me a replacement impeller. i like that idea a bit better. i dont have to wait a long time, hopefully a new impeller will fix this.
