But for what? I thought a fw dip helped to cleanse it from the iodine dip.
The FW dip is meant to remove pests...zoanthids seem to get more than their share...Nudis, spiders, etc. Iodine would be to treat any infection...but is also a toxin in high concentrations to inverts. However, I think in a FW dip the main active ingredient is the fresh water itself.
I have also used a melafix/saltwater dip to treat LPS that appear to have an infection or other process.
Personally, I would never recommend putting anything other than a zoo/paly in freshwater.
