    Default Perhaps a Stupid question

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I'm in the process of putting an addition onto my house and have planned an area as a media room and at the back of the room I'm planning a 300+ gallon behind the wall reef tank located in a separate dedicated "wet room" for easy access and hiding the plumbing, pumps, etc. I've been out of the hobby for about 10 years and have been re-educating myself while the construction goes on. The tanks I had prior were always in a relatively quiet area. I have not found any information about whether reef species are adversely affected by the "noise" of a home theater/stereo system. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but would appreciate any information anyone might have. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks,#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Randy#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

I do not know about studies but my tank critters do not seem to mind the noise and they are in the noises place in my home
It is our responsibilities, not ourselves, that we should take seriously.

I read some where that if it is nosey enough to cause the tank to vibrate or move some that it may stress the fishes. But I guess as long as you don't put is right by any speakers it would be ok. And with that large amonth of water it may not matter anyway.

our tank has always been in the livingroom since day one. noise dosen't seem to bother fish as much as movement in front of the tank. walking past the tank and they scatter.. unless they know Ron's about to feed them ! LOL They should be fine! Can't wait to see this tank when finished!! ..If yor going big.. you should check out this reef...

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Sarah,#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks for you input and thank you for the link! It was exciting to see a reef very similar in what I have designed. I can't wait to show the "finished" system. Construction has begun and they poured the foundation walls yesterday. The media room will measure a little more than 21' wide by 26' long. The aquarium will be built into the wall like Moye's in the link you provided. The work/wet room will measure 17' by 10'. I'm designing the plumbing to make water changes very simple. A 100 gallon refugium as well as refrigerator/freezer for supplies and utlility sink will also be in the work/wet room. The main tank will be fully accessable from the wet/workroom to facilitate maintenance and cleaning.Hopefully by late spring I can show the first images of the reef system being installed.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks again,#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Randy#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
