    If I was you I'd go with a good HOG skimmer with a skim cup to help reduce the slick you have spoken of in the past.Also like stated the fuge is intended to be a safety net for not just the bugs but for bacteria also.The in sump skimmer will reduce these but not totaly destroy them.

    No and no real filtration either. 24g pretty heavily stocked lps, 2 birdsnest, with a pair of clownfish, wc's every 3-4 weeks.
