To cut the plexi I used the dremel cut off wheel. It worked much better than the saw. No chips or cracks. You just have to hold it on it's side and run it down your line, then snap it. Kinda like a "deep" score mark.

They are sturdy.....getting them to fit was interresting. They were too tight the first cut, so I sanded them with the sanding disk on my dremel. They fit now. Thay arn't wiggleing out of place that's for sure.

I also had to trim the bottom corners to get them to fit tight to the bottom. (around the tank's silicone)

I'm tired so I will get it installed under the 75g in the morning. I will have to get the rest of the plumbing done then. I had parent teacher conferences tonight so I didn't have as much time to work on it as I had hoped.

Looks great. Thanks for all of the pictures. Any suggestions on the gap that should between the panel and the tank walls for a good fit but easy installation?

All I can tell you is that it's not "quite" as easy as the instructions make it sound. You may have to trim it. Then again, it may fit better for you. I'm sure I've said it before, building things is not one of my stronger qualities. I may have measured wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

If I can do it, chances are anyone can. I can't believe nobody else has tried this yet. I didn't take the adhesive off of the EPDM. According to the directions we're supposed to leave it on to stick it to the baffles. It's a very thin line of adhesive.

Bending the acrylic to get it into place is kinda tricky. At only 11 3/4 long and 10 in. high it doesn't bend well.

Good luck......I want to see other people's sumps when they are done.

Jim from what i'm seeing it appears to be a combo, I could be wrong depending on what she is doing but he middle section is generally the fuge, couple this with the fact that it is for the ponys and if it's not a combo you can smack me with a jelly donut and call me grandma.
