Okay first, I must admit the original idea was brought to me by Perpetual98, (who lifted it from someone else). But with days of collaboration between Perpetual, Graphixx, and muself we identified several flaws in the original design and hopefully ironed out a few potential problems.
The Idea.... a continuously overflowing tank... yes overflowing... on purpose!
For $8, I scored this dandy little pile of 1/4" glass cut to size. 1-18"x18", 2-18"x12", and 2-17.5"x12.
It's all rough cut, but for $8, come on.... I'll finish the edges myself, nothing a little elbow grease and some sandpaper won't resolve. (BTW the next cheapest source for the glass was $65 with finished edges).
If you look closely you can see where the large pane is marked for drilling... I'll have another thread started later this evening with pics and a step by step of how I drill glass. I was hoping to have it finished by now, but some dummy put away the dremel and diamond bits so they wouldn't get lost.... of course now I can't figure out where I put them....go figure.
