Default What about this for temp lighting?

Cruising on another forum I found someone using this light for their fuge. How do you think it would do for a main tank temporarily? Right now all I have is the 18 watt NO daylight that came with the tank. I realize that it might be a little yellow but at 500 watt output, wouldn't it be better than what I have now. They said they only paid about $40.00 for it at HD. Could I use this until I get my 250 watt MH?

Actually the output on those is at 6500K, which is well within acceptable coloring for things. A lot of folks use them over refuges and such as well. And umpteen times better that what you have running now

In other words it would probbably work out well fora while. Not sure how long they hold up before shifting coloring.... But they are reasonably cheap $40 at HD.

There are a couple of threads here about them, you'd have to search them out, bit if you try it for your display let's us know how it works out!
Every electronic device is manufactured with smoke stored deep inside... only a true genius can find a way to set it free.
