Glad your enjoying the site. I'm glad to have you here. If you have any suggestions, feel free to drop me a line.
I didn't know we could post a pic in our signature. Cool. I'll have to figure it out and post one, but you've seen my photo skills and they're not pretty. I did put my tank specs in the signature now.

    Thanks,

ok back on topic tom if you are only dosing enough to bring your mg up by 18.5 ppm per day then it is going to take you a long time to get rid of the bryopsys as you need to get your mg raised by several hundred ppm

it is safe to rais your mg by 100ppm per day but not more for most all corals only other thing I would sugest is putting a hold on the vodca dosing till you get the bryopsys killed as its death will cause a nutrient spike in the tank
I have been reefing from 08-2007 till 5-2011

reef tanks are like wifes you have to give them some attention every now and then

I am wimping out by only adding 20 per day, but I've shot myself in the foot before. Things were going well, but I wanted to make things perfect. I'll meet you half way. I'll up it to 50ppm per day 'til I get there. I agree, it is taking forever to get the Mg up. Thanks Marc.

not that I am advocating this but I dosed two of the normal sized kent's bottles into my 70 gallon total volume tank over the course of a weekend. Nothing looked hurt by this and the algae is dieing quickly. I dont think you have to be that careful with dosing this stuff.

I think it calculated out to 44ml for 18.3ppm so about 20ppm per day. By the way, no difference, in fact seems worse. I might double it after I do my water change. I use Oceanic and it's supposed to have a standing mg of 1600.

My sps tank has about 165gal total volume when you subtract all the LR, sand and distance from the top (sump about 5" from the top).

I bumped up my dosing the day after my last post to 60mL 3 times a day! All is gone except one faint single stalk that is looking very translucent and weak today.
In total I have dose three complete bottle of Kent Tech M, I think I my do one more bottle and call it good!

Not good, Marc. The sump is clean of all algae except some valonia, but the dt is full of bryopsis. The red turf algae seems to either be going away (white rock showing) or the fish are finally eating it. I ran out of Tech M so I'm ordering more tonight. Maybe I just didn't do it strongly enough.

I did kick up my bacter7 and vodka dosing. Maybe that will help if I can reach or get closer to uln.
