If you find him just have him contact me in the next few weeks.
FYI it could be 4 or 5 foot long and where you see it is more than likely not its lair. Trust me it's not that easy. Good luck. They are terrible creatures.
Thats my post on the same exact worm!!! I had been looking months and months ago for an ID on this guy, I came to the conclusion that I think it is indeed a eunicid worm but not a "bobbit" worm, there are a ton of different kinds of eunicids and most of them are harmless.... i have this exact species in my tank and hes one of my favorite inhabitants now! hes also made it through all my tank catastrophes alive when others have died. He seems to come out during feeding times, if you make sure some food makes its way near his hole youll see him come out, buts hes super timid... If i were you id leave him in there! hes pretty cute and I am 100% positive hes harmless, ive had my tank 2 years and while this worm may get long he doesnt get wide, **** stay pretty small, ive had all sorts of different fish, I had an ich outbreak, and a heater issue that killed them all, but it was def not the worm. SAVE HIM, he didnt choose to be a little eunicid worm! Also ive never seen a better picture of this worm anywhere! its so hard to get a pic they are soo skiddish, i just got sick and tired of looking at pictures of worms blech! haha (btw i joined this forum just so i could respond to this thread i came across! lol)

+1 not the same worm for sure !! Here is a comparison
Note the difference in the front tentacles and the diffrent structures and length of the legs. Also if you zoom in on the pictures you will note the completely diffrent mouth structure too ,not to mention the color differences
sorry Chuck, totally dissagreeing with you on this. absolutly the same worm. in the first picture the worm has its jaws open, the second pic is with jaws closed. bobbit/eunice worms come in all different colors. here is a link to a video of one that i had to pull out of the coral tank at reef solutions (which my coworker claimed was not in there(told yah!)). note the color difference in the same worm! this one was about 1/2" diameter and around 14" long, scruntched up. who knows how long this would have been stretched out.
get the worm out before its starts to eat everything. this one was found under a chalice one day, then under a zoa rock the next.
