    Default Candy Cane?

It's just the Candy Cane. Hammer, Favia, Blasto are all doing great! Actually everything but the CC is doing great. Frustrating!! It's my very first coral :-/

Do you think it looks like the part getting the most light is melting more?

No more so then what it's been getting for the last year. Another difference is....I had to move my ATO. So now the topoff water enters the fuge at the return. Where it use to be clear at the other end.
I was also adding the 2part in the same area. It's where the most flow is.

I think maybe I'm not being clear...

Because your skimmer is making water cleaner, it is likely that light is penetrating more than before. If it is just the top of the colony that is melting, I think it has to do with lighting.

However if you have also changed the flow pattern, that could also have caused the problem. Bigger colonies tend to be more sensitive to flow changes than frags.

Depending on how much and how directly two part hits it, that could also be a factor. Same goes for top off water..if it is getting hit with fresh water that could be the cause. The key is to have small amounts that are well mixed. Which I am sure you are already doing.

I was thinking the same think. Especially if new bulbs were added all at once. I didn't realize T5s could be s problem if you changed all the bulbs at once. I switched out 6 at once in my first fixture. Caused a lot of problems.
Don't know if you recently changed bulbs or not. Maybe to many changes at once?

Combined with the skimmer increasing water clarity, it is getting more light than it did before. The new bulbs were probably double the PAR of the old ones...maybe even more.

How many T5 bulbs is your fixture? When I ran T5's I would only change one or two at a time to provide a chance for everything to acclimate. I took a sharpie marker and put the in service date on the end of them so I knew how old each bulb was.

My guess is your candy cane will make it...the top part maybe not. It should be easy enough to frag that part off and you will still have a nice piece. If there is still some flesh visible, it can come back.

4x24w I just didn't think the lights would do that. I replaced them all last year at the same time and it didn't do this to the CC. It was in the same place too. Then again I'm using a Tru Actinic this time.
I've stopped dosing for now and will up the wc. Maybe I can shade it some how. Really don't have anywhere else to put it.
I'll be bringing it to the swap next month for James to frag. Was planing on giving the frag away so I hope it's healed up by then.

Its probably a combo of the lights and the penetration through much cleaner water.

I have a smaller neon one that I thought was dead. You could barely see any tissue. Its coming back fast. Its just heartbreaking when it was so huge vibrant and healthy. Hate to see it have trouble
