My guess is his gills were burned by an ammonia spike from the dying stuff. You need to increase the oxygen levels in the water if he has any chance of a recovery. Think of it as burning your lungs in a fire. Try puting a power head at the surface. You need to get the surface water moving. Truthfully probably not much chance of a recovery because in the short term infection and inflammation will get worse. If he makes it 5 days he has a good chance of recovery. Good luck and I'm sorry.

thanks for the info. It died yesterday. coral life says they are going to do something for me....but I still have not heard if thats true and if so what....or if they are just trying to shut me up. If they don't do anything I will definitely be filing something with the BBB. I hate loosing fish....they are party of the family. My son (4years old)had named them all. This is something that we should not have to worry about. Equipment should not fail. I would loose my job if i had this kind of failure rate! Oh well done with my rant. thanks for everyones help!
