Cleaner shrimp can not clean ick off a fish fast enough. They will pick at a few and may help in prevention but can not get enough off a fully infested fish before the fish succumbs to the parasite and dies.Originally Posted by Gravety

Wow, all I have to say is 1 of my clowns is quite smart. I got the first 3 out in about 2 minutes then I had to completely tear apart my aquascape for this last little guy. He was hiding in the rocks, under the rocks, behind the rocks, behind the powerheads and everything. He even made a jump for the overflow box as a last ditch effort to avoid me.
Finally .. I got them all in the QT where they are at now.
Now for the aftermath, aquascape destroyed, sand everywhere

Now for how I feel
10G fish tank 9.99
Water heater 6.99
Ick Remover 3.99
Fish Net 2.99

Chasing fish around your tank, doing a 15 gallon water change, and rebuilding your aquascape at 12:30AM...
Priceless
For everything else, there's reefing
Thanks for the help and a big thank you to Keri for helping me find what I need. Man I bug that guy alot :D
Look at the other side of things now, at least you have pretty much all you need to QT any additional fish/coral that you may purchase in the future. Seeing your new animals sit in QT for 4-6 weeks in the QT can be heart breaking but it can really save a lot of hassle and trouble later.
Every electronic device is manufactured with smoke stored deep inside... only a true genius can find a way to set it free.
The good news, the ick is almost all gone on the little guys in the tank. They are swimming around and playing here and there, but not as active as in the main, but I believe this to be from the sudden lights on in the middle of the night, being put into a new smaller tank with nothing in it.
I hooked up my "free" bio-wheel filtration system to the tank and removed the bio wheel and the filter at Keri's instruction to create water movement and they seem to be moving and playing a little more now. This evening I plan to add more ick medicine to the tank followed by a 50% water change tomorrow. I will keep you updated as things happen.
Well the percs seem to be enjoying the 10G tank right now, they are swimming all over the place playing and having fun.
I accidently drugged them last night I think. I my haste, worry, and concern I put some extra drops into the water and they were a little slow moving this morning. After a small water change, some food, and light from the main tank, they are having all kinds of fun in there.
I will post some pics this evening if I can get a clear shot since the water is hazy from the medicine for an update.
It's good to hear they are looking better and not too upset with their move! Please do keep us updated! :-)
Here's an article that will help. Garlic and oil have not proved to do anything for ich. There are three proven methods for treating ich: hyposalinity, copper, and the three day transfer method. Good luck. Also, be sure to check out the section on QT.
