No, I'm using the non-color changing Spectrapure MaxCap and Silica-Buster resins. As I understand it, the non-color changing version provides slightly higher capacity. I monitor it via TDS meters anyway, so I don't really miss it. I switched to Spectrapure from BRS a couple years ago - they are amazing. I think I only changed DI resin once in the past year. I've already put about 500 gallons @ 2TDS through the current ones, they aren't even broken in yet

I bought the Norwesco tanks through tanksforless.com.

Wow I will check out Spectrapure. I changed my color change resin 3 times last year for only probably 200 gallons. I use the color change just to give me a quick look ans then use TDS meter to know when to change it. My BRS RO unit only get down to 9-13 TDS and then I am 0 coming out of DI!

9-13 out of the RO seems really high unless your source water is 450+TDS. You'l burn through resin fast. I'd check your RO - if you're not using a boost pump, increasing the pressure across the membrane can result in a huge efficiency increase. IIRC, when I installed my original boost pump, I went from 5 TDS to 1~2 TDS which more than tripled the resin life.

Which boost pump are you using? It's been awhile since I checked water source before RODI? Thanks for your advice.

The kids chose the color for the reef wall - Sapphire Lace, a shade darker than Cobalt. The shimmer from the Kessils should bring the whole wall to life.

Thanks Jamie - One of these days I'll actually have a tank to work on.

I unboxed one of the Kessils and held it over my current DT just to get a sense of the shimmer.....WOW. I'm really looking forward to this build. I think 8' of shimmer against the rich, blue wall will enhance the overall look of the tank.

The Double Cone should arrive tomorrow- Now all I need is the tank
