AUGUST 1st - We're combining our famous garage sale with our customer appreciation sale to make one GIANT event! We're bringing out all of the overstock, the scratch-and-dent, the clearance and closeouts, and anything on the shelves that needs to move, and we're pricing it to SELL! We'll have sales on dry goods and AMAZING SALES on LIVESTOCK - remember those cheap Flame Angels? They'll be back! More details to come, but if you're within driving distance mark your calendars!
What little I can expand on right now is this: We'll be ordering a stupid number of amazing fish, corals and inverts and we'll be doing some of our crazy lot-pricing on it. We'll have the ridiculously low pricing on everything, so even special orders that come in for the event will be subject to the sale.
There is a lot of merchandise that made the journey from the old shop to the new shop, but it's not going onto these shiny new shelves, per the boss' orders. Some of it is too old and dusty to look presentable. Some is returns, scratch-and-dent, damaged or missing pieces, reconditioned pieces or closed out products from a non-SKU line that we can't electronically inventory. There are all sorts of awesome things around that aren't internet-worthy, but they're begging to be used on a system.
So, we're setting up yard-sale style in the parking lot (or in case of rain just inside the bay doors) with a ton of tables. We're not pre-advertizing what all is going onto the sale tables, because this is a local event only. That means there's no chance to call or email in a request, or reserve an item, and our wholesale customers are also subject to the same rules as everyone else, so everyone gets the same chance to score real deals. It's an honest-to-goodness first come, first served, supplies are limited to the stock on hand the day of the event - and for the lawyers, there are no backorders or rainchecks, blah blah usual exclusions blah blah blah... Now that our tank-raised systems are up, we feel like we're back to offering a full-service LFS for our locals. We're really trying hard to make this the inaugural event at our new location and to reward everyone who chooses to visit.
We're even willing to sweeten the deal for carpool organizers - contact me if you're serious about a trip, and we can make some arrangements. We'll open early and stay late to make sure anyone on the road gets their time in the Livestock area.
Another fun fact - if you pre-order any supplies or dry goods the week before via the site, and select Local Pickup for your shipping option, you'll skip the sales tax on all of those items because you're out-of-state! Stock up on supplies tax-free and take the order home with you after you've made your Livestock Sale and Garage Sale purchases in person!
