I'm glad this thread is here. After reading through it again, I'm beginning to believe that my zoa issues may be water quality related. I never thought about an alk swing, or lack nutrients as being an issue when it comes to keeping them.

Maybe I'm using to many things to absorb excess nutrients due to the HA issue I was having. Now that the HA is gone and my tank has matured, I'm wondering if I no longer need the Chemipure Elite and the Chaeto in my fuge. I also have another type of algae growing in my tank, not sure of the name but it's a leafy red. Actually it looks pretty nice.

Now if it's a flow issue there's really not to much I can do about that. There is not pump small enough I can put in my tank that it won't blow my sb all over the place. I do use the turkey baster method but not every day. But then again if it's a flow issue why would some come back and other not? The ones that do come back last for a little while and then they go again.

I totally rely on my salt to feed my tank. I use no additives, dose nothing. All PE grow wonderfully in my tank, never a die off. All LPS grow wonderfully in my tank, never a die off.

My only issues have been zoa's. I can't keep them alive for nothing. Oh yea, the ones I first posted the pic's of. Showing how they went from a nice little colony to all shriveled up, they're back and almost looking like they once did. They have thinned out some but they're look nice again.
