I feel bad for SharkBait... every fish he sees that he really wants WON'T go in a 10 gallon! The good thing is that this contest will give him the experience to know his limits and do what's best for the critters.

On the road of life only question the important things and youll find the road gets smoother up ahead:iroc:
How about something really off the wall.. like a baby snowflake eel? Granted by the time the nano contest is over he'll need a larger house, but thats something not too often seen and will definately deter the wants to add more fish (aka lunch).
Just thinking out loud....
Every electronic device is manufactured with smoke stored deep inside... only a true genius can find a way to set it free.
SHHH!!! LOL!!!
Actually, Big P and I have been looking at eels lately and playing with the idea of setting up another tank...
I vote for the clown fish also. They are hardy and will do well in the 10g nano and a larger tank if you wish to move them to a larger tank later on. I have a pair of true percs. in my nano.
ells ya ells that would be cool or just ask mom for one out of here tank ...lol just kidding ... but eels would be cool

Actually, if you decide you want a predator like an eel I would recommend a Fresh Water Moray Eel, slowly acclimated to the marine environment. It will stay small enough for you to keep in that aquarium for as long as it lives and it is as fun as one of his big cousins. Just make sure you get the right species if you decide to go this way since not all freshwater eels can live in both fresh water and salt water.
This is the scientific name of the Eel I'm talking about:
Gymnothorax tile
I've had mine in a 60g reef environment for about 5 months and it is thriving. It eats thawed frozen shiners cut in half and live ghost shrimp. I have not had a problem with it consuming any fish or shrimp that are larger than its head so you can still get the clown or damsel that you like.
Good luck !
i have two yellow tail damsel's, a percula clownfish, and a kind of surgeonfish in my 30g. they all live together very happlly. i like the clownfish he's fun to watch.
