    Default sump with problems

I recently added to my aquarium a 10 gallon sump with miracle mud and macro algae. By adding the sump I increased the tank flow from 500 gph to almost 800 gph. Since the addition the movement within the tank looks to have decreased and diatom algae has built up horribly as well as all the fish have died!!!! I'm to the point now that I either want to give up or go back to running the tank with a hang-on filter. I was able to run a 29g with little problems with a hang-on filter and a few powerheads for several months. The tank is also extremely cloudy. The corals are doing fine but this brown alae is hanging off them and i am afraid its going to kill them eventually. Any ideas, I'm at my wits end. Thank you as always.

are all ur levels ok? nitrates, phosphates, ammonia and nitrite? sounds like a tank spike like when you first setup a new tank and cycle it. might want to try some ultra clear bactieria as well.

Hey Greg I wouldn't wait for an answer. The original poster has not been on the board since June!
