gauging interest in a metro Detroit reef club

I am with Jim... Have the club meet at the bar next to Reef Solutions. I would be interested in something like that.

well if u would had read the whole forum the bar has and will be closed for good from the people i have talked to
and to be honest my idea of a reef club is not meeting to get drunk

I suggested the bar because it was casual convenient place to meet next to a nice LFS. Those types of places (LFS, restaurant, bar, etc.) in my opinion are better for meetings than someone's house since the level of prep/cleanup is low for the host and I think attendees may be more comfortable than a residential setting. Just because it is in a bar doesn't mean everyone gets drunk.

I guess it gets back to my earlier post about defining what it is that everyone wants out of the club.

It's unfortunate that bar is closed though...I liked the small swap Carl had there last summer.
